Swan Hill MCC River’s Ride Day
Rivers Ride Day was established in 2018 as a fundraiser for the Purtill family after their son, River. He was diagnosed with Adrenal Cortical Carcinoma at just two years old. Sadly, River passed away in December 2019, aged four.
What began as a fundraiser has grown into a much-loved community event, held at the Balranald Motorcycle Club and later the Swan Hill Motorcycle Club. Rivers Ride Day honours River’s memory while raising funds for local community groups, supporting local motocross, and promoting awareness of childhood cancer.
As part of the day, participants are encouraged to dress in costume for the Lap of Honour—a colourful tribute to River and a celebration of community, family and motocross.
