Outback Assault, Round 4 The Great Divide.
THE OUTBACK ASSAULT 2026
This event is conducted by the National Motorsport Association, under the sanction of the Australian Motorcycling Competition Association.
Round 4 – The Great Divide East Coast Hard Enduro Series
Welcome to The Outback Assault, an all-new hard enduro event coming to Mount Molloy, Far North Queensland for Round 4 of The Great Divide East Coast Hard Enduro Series.
For the first time, The Great Divide heads north to take on a completely different style of terrain. Expect open forest, big hill climbs, technical gullies, rocky sections, creek crossings, fast and flowing trails and plenty of challenging natural obstacles designed to test riders of every level.
The Outback Assault is open to both regular Great Divide competitors and riders joining us for the first time. You do not need to have competed in any previous rounds of the series to enter.
Whether you're an experienced hard enduro racer, a local enduro rider looking for a new challenge, or a trail rider wanting to experience your first organised hard enduro event, there is a class for you.
Race Format
The Outback Assault will be run across the weekend, with courses and difficulty tailored to each class.
Riders will compete on clearly marked courses incorporating the natural terrain of the Mount Molloy property. The course will feature a mixture of open riding, technical gullies, steep hill climbs and challenging hard enduro sections.
Different classes will be directed onto different sections of the course, meaning you don't need to be a Gold-level rider to enter a hard enduro event.
Bronze, Iron, Junior and other classes will have courses suited to their respective ability levels, while Silver and Gold riders can expect increasingly difficult sections and obstacles.
Full race format, start procedures, race durations, rider briefing times and weekend schedule will be provided in the event information prior to racing.
Iron Class – New to Hard Enduro? Start Here.
If you've always wanted to have a go at hard enduro but aren't interested in racing for results, Iron Class is for you.
Iron is a non-competitive class designed specifically for trail riders, first-time hard enduro riders and anyone who simply wants to experience the event without the pressure of racing.
Iron riders will tackle a shortened and more achievable course while still getting a genuine taste of hard enduro. You'll encounter hills, gullies, trails and technical terrain, but the course is designed to be achievable for competent trail riders.
There are no championship points and no pressure to race the clock. The goal is simple — get out there, challenge yourself and enjoy the experience.
If you're a North Queensland trail rider who has never competed with The Great Divide before, this is a great opportunity to give hard enduro a crack.

Not Sure Which Class to Enter?
Don't be put off if you've never raced hard enduro before.
Gold is for highly experienced hard enduro competitors looking for the toughest course and obstacles we can throw at them.
Silver is for experienced riders who are comfortable with difficult technical terrain and want a serious challenge.
Bronze is where many riders begin their hard enduro racing. You'll still be challenged, but the course avoids the extreme Gold and Silver sections.
Iron is the best starting point for riders who want the experience without competing for results.
If you're unsure which class suits your ability, contact the event organisers before entering and we'll help point you in the right direction.
Camping & Facilities
Camping will be available onsite for competitors and their crews.
Riders are encouraged to make a weekend of it. Arrive Friday, set up camp, get yourself organised and be ready for a full weekend of riding and racing.
Further information regarding camping areas, toilets, food, water and other onsite facilities will be provided in the competitor information before the event.
Please remember that this is a rural event location. Riders and crews should arrive prepared and bring everything they require for the weekend, including fuel, riding gear, tools, spares and personal supplies.
New to The Great Divide?
If this is your first Great Divide event — welcome.
The Great Divide East Coast Hard Enduro Series caters for riders across a huge range of abilities, from riders taking on their first hard enduro through to Australia's leading Gold Class competitors.
Courses are colour coded and clearly marked, with each class following the course designated to them.
Experienced officials, sweep riders and event personnel will be positioned throughout the event to keep racing running safely and help manage riders on course.
Before racing begins, riders will attend a compulsory rider briefing covering course markings, start procedures, safety information and anything specific to the Mount Molloy event.
You don't need to be chasing a championship to enter. Single-round entries are welcome.
Come up, choose the class that suits you and have a crack.
What to Bring
All competitors should arrive prepared for a full weekend of off-road riding.
At a minimum, riders should have their motorcycle in good mechanical condition, appropriate protective riding equipment, sufficient fuel, basic tools and spares, hydration and everything required for camping if staying onsite.
Hard enduro is demanding on both riders and motorcycles, so preparation is important. Make sure your bike is ready, your tyres are suitable for the conditions and you have enough fuel and supplies to get through the weekend.
The Racing
The Outback Assault will combine traditional hard enduro with the unique terrain of Far North Queensland.
Expect big hill climbs, technical gullies, open forest, rocky sections and natural obstacles, linked together with faster and more flowing sections that will give riders a chance to open the bike up before diving back into the technical terrain.
Each class will face a different level of difficulty, allowing riders to challenge themselves without having to tackle obstacles designed for classes above their ability.
As Round 4 of The Great Divide East Coast Hard Enduro Series, championship points will be available for eligible competitive classes.
You don't need to be competing for the championship to race. Riders are welcome to enter The Outback Assault as a standalone event.
Event Location – Mount Molloy, Far North Queensland
Set amongst the open forest and rugged terrain surrounding Mount Molloy, The Outback Assault brings The Great Divide to Far North Queensland for the first time.
